NOVEMBER 17th 2012

Old Malton’s grip on the York Minster Engineering Premier League Championship Shield is well and truly slipping after they suffered a rare defeat at current leaders Dunnington who have now opened up a seven point lead over second placed Wigginton who lost at Huntington Rovers.

Dunnington,  who have failed to record a home win over their Ryedale rivals since February 2007,  opened the scoring through Rob Chipps after quarter-of-an hour, Simon Cooke restored parity but just before the break Josh Tattersall  gave Dunnington the vital  advantage at the break. The three points were confirmed for the hosts with a brilliant Scott Sullivan free kick in the second period.   Wigginton suffered their first away defeat in five as they failed to adapted to the heavy conditions at Huntington, Lee Jackson struck an exquisite goal to put the host in front at the break and John James doubled their lead midway through the second half before Kev Butler pulled a late goal back for Grasshoppers. It was only the second time in eight meetings that Huntington had taken the honours over Wigginton and also avenged the 5-0 drubbing they took at Wigginton on the opening day in August. Basement side Hamilton Panthers collected their first points of the season as they recorded a win for the first time since last January and they did it the hard way!! Visitors York RI,  who had struck 27 goals past Panthers in their previous five meetings led at the break 5-1 courtesy of a  Lee Powell hat-trick and one each from Dave McNichol and Darren Sellars. Matters were made worse for Panthers when they were reduced to 10 men but the new-look Panthers somehow managed to win 6-5 with goals from Matty Walters (2) Christian Fox (2) Josh Leeming and their winner four minutes from time through Danny Farthing.

Terrington’s away success continues as they notched up their 12th  away game without defeat as they triumphed 4-2 at Dringhouses. Twice ‘Houses led,  initially with a Javier Shepherd tap-in then with a Sam Kitson strike but the Glory boys hit back through Ben Richardson, Jordan Grose and a Alex Yates brace. Easingwold’s only win over Riccall in the last five years was last season but the record never looked likely to be improved as they conceded goals to Paul King, Will Ramsey, Andy Addison, Dave Heron, Steve Lyon, Tom Littlewood, and Danny Rodwell as Riccall won 7-1, Andy Haigh hit the token reply for Easingwold. Since promotion to the Premier League Poppleton have never tasted success at York St Johns and a Harry Hewson treble added to a Tom Hairyes double ensured the students maintained their winning run as they won 5-1, Michael Lilley replied for Pop,

The top two sides in Division One both won and have a useful nine point advantage over the chasing pack. Leaders Aviva raced into a three goal lead assisted by two own goals and one from Lee Downham in their home encounter with Amotherby before the visitors rallied with goals from Matty Webster and John Dunning, Neil Richardson and Tom Shirley then both hit their seventh goal of the season to ensure a 5-2 win for Aviva. Second placed St Clements hit three second half goals through Dale Lumley (2) and Chris Rowan to extend their unbeaten run to 6 as they defeated Total Sports 3-0. Tockwith ended a run of five games without a win with a 2-0 home win over Pocklington 2-0 with a goal in each half, Andy Wilson hit their opener and James Neville their second. Pock have now failed to record a win over Tockwith in their last nine meetings. Hemingbrough’s Tom Collins scored all his sides goals in their 4-1 win at Wilberfoss, Mark Hughes replied for the hosts. Malton & Norton entertained Haxby in a league encounter for the first time in four years and notched up their first win over Haxby in five attempts despite falling behind to an early Matty Wash goal, Chris Hodgson levelled for the Ryedale side before a Marcus Gosell brace and a  Ryan Rivis goal sealed a 4-1 victory.

It was all change at the top of Division Two, leaders Heslington lost at the seemingly impregnable Tadcaster Magnets, conceding three goals in the first 10 minutes and eventually losing 6-1, Phil Smith (2) Ben Wilson (2) John Crawley and Danny Phillis shared the Taddy tally who are now unbeaten at home in their last 20 games,  with Lee Topping, scoring for the third game on the trot, replying for Heslington. With Second placed Strensall waterlogged, Fulford leap-frogged to the top of the table after their 4-1 win at Bishopthorpe, scoring all their goals in the first half through Sam Harrison, Steve Jarvis, Jamie Husband  and an og before Ben Jones reduced the deficit for Bish in the second period. Thorpe Utd sit just a point behind Fulford after defeating Stamford Bridge 4-1, on target for Thorpe were Glen Littlewood, Dean Wood, Dan Mustill and Shaun Pickles with Connor Richardson doing likewise for the visitors. Rawcliffe registered their first home win in five as they defeated Osbaldwick 5-3, goals from Lewis Howarth, Simon Wilson and keeper Leon Finney with a free kick saw Rawcliffe 3-0 in front at the interval. John Morris increased their lead before the O’s hit back but Paul Braniscombe secured the win for Rawcliffe.

Tom Knowles maintained his record of scoring in every game this season as Division Three leaders Bishop Wilton won 3-1 at Crayke, Darren Woodhead and Ted Donkin completed the scoring for the visitors while Tom Hilling hit a late goal for Crayke who are still looking for their first win in 14. Second half goals from George Trifan and Rich Proctor earned F1 Racing a 2-1 win at Elvington, Tim Carrington responded for the Harriers. Despite a Richard Dwight hat-trick Ouseburn suffered their fourth game without a win as they lost 4-3 at home to Civil Service, James Windle (2) Gareth Inness and Michael Quinn shared the visitors goals. Sporting Knavesmire recorded their first away draw in 15 games as they drew 2-2 with Selby Olympia, Ryan Taylor and Greg Mleczek hit the Selby goals.

The only game in Division Four saw top-of-the-table York Acorn entertain basement side Moor Lane with the inevitable landslide win for the hosts. The Dutton brothers Leigh (3) and Andy (2) hit half their sides ten goals with Wilson Briggs (2) Connor Larna,  Chris Ellerker and Luke Richardson sharing the remainder.

Wigginton continue to dominant Reserve A as they extend their lead to 13 points as their nearest rivals Haxby lost. Grasshoppers comfortably pushed their unbeaten run to 14 with a 5-1 home win over York RI, Rob Orr (2) Craig Huggins, Jack Green and Nick Dunlop shared the Wigginton nap hand with Dave Clarke’s ninth goal of the season been RI’s only reply. Haxby conceded a goal in each half, the first to Chris Holmes, the second to Ali Bell as they lost 2-0 at home to Huntington. Dunnington, with games in hand, look to be the only side capable to challenge Wigginton and they pushed their unbeaten run to 22 with a 4-1 win at Copmanthorpe.

It is rapidly becoming a two horse race in Reserve B as Easingwold and White Horse move 8 points clear of the rest of the table. Steve Wragg hit the only goal of the game as White Horse defeated Aviva while Easingwold hit seven unanswered goals past Fulford. Andrew Metcalfe (Jnr) with a hat-trick, Andrew Metcalfe (Snr) a brace and Darren Copper and Luke Boudoir were all on the Easingwold score sheet.

Both Heslington and Bishopthorpe chalked up their third draw of the season as they shared the spoils at Heslington, Rich Carroll’s opener for Heslington was cancelled out by Graham Vickers for Bish and when Russ Carr restored Heslington’s lead Jamie Mackie levelled again for Bish as the game finished 2-2.

Two of the three games played in Reserve C finished all-square, a late equaliser from Ben Kirby preserved  leaders Poppleton’s unbeaten home run as they salvaged a point with a 1-1 draw with Tockwith, earlier Steve Dey had given the visitors the lead. Tockwith  were the last side to win at Pop in April 2011. Second placed Malton & Norton had to settle for a point from their visit to Hemingbrough after they conceded an equaliser to Ricky Hutton,  Joe Jefferson had earlier given the Ryedale side the lead. Kyle Pool hit a hat-trick for Selby RSSC in their 4-2 home win over Stamford Bridge, Josh Knowles added their fourth while John Cavanagh and Lewis Rawling shared the visitors goals.

The top two sides in Reserve D both recorded comfortable victories, leaders Crayke hit eight at Huby without a reply while second placed Civil Service beat Wheldrake 7-2. The Bilham brothers, Matty and Luke both scored twice for Crayke to add to goals from Carl Slater, Gary Goodwin,  Louis Cox and Steve Johnson whilst the Civil Service tally was shared between Gareth Strain (3) Lee Richardson (2),  Matty Williams and Carl Barker, Tom Anderson and Jason McCloud  replied for Wheldrake. F1 Racing suffered their first home defeat in five games as they lost 3-1 to St Clements, Chris Rowan (2) and Gareth Moore were on target for the Saints with Simon Nunns getting the lone Racing goal. Cliffe ended a 9 match winless run in style as they beat Bishop Wilton 6-0 with Tom Ellwood getting half their goals, Richard Taylor and brothers Nathan and Nigel Horner completed the rout. Cliffe have yet to concede a goal to Bishop Wilton after six meetings. Keith Hunter hit the Tadcaster Town goal in their 3-1 home defeat to Rufforth.

NOVEMBER 10th 2012

With York Minster Engineering Premier League Leaders Dunnington away on cup duty, the chasing pack of five clubs all took advantage to move three points nearer the leaders.

Wigginton put five goals past Easingwold Town for the second time this season, a Lee Stewart goal separated the sides at the break but the Grasshoppers hit four goals in the final half hour through Matt Tiplady, Lee McQuade – his 18th of the season – Josh Hutchinson and Harry McMillan. It was the fourth game on the trot that Easingwold had conceded five goals. Huntington trailed to a Darren Sellars goal at York RI but levelled through John James before the break and a second half brace from Chris Dyson secured a 3-1 victory for Huntington.  Since gaining promotion to the Premier League Poppleton have never beaten Old Malton at home and despite a spirited performance the record stays intact, Robbie Baker put the Ryedale side in front but within 10 minutes Richard Moss had equalised and brother Nick,  hitting his third goal in as many games,  gave Pop the lead just before the break.

Two second half goals from Scott Preston – one from the spot -  condemned Pop to their eighth home game without a win. In a repeat of last season’s score line Dringhouses defeated York St Johns 2-0 with both goals, the first from Craig McShane, the second from Liam Stilgoe been provided by pin-point crosses from the left. Dringhouses have now beaten the students in their last five meetings. Tom Littlewood scored the only goal of the game as Terrington slipped to their first defeat in five as they lost 1-0 at home to Riccall. Selby RSSC are still looking for their first home win the Premier League after going down 2-1 to Copmanthorpe despite taking an early lead. Mark Featherstone equalised for Cop before Chris Storey hit their winner from the penalty spot. Adam Fishwick gave basement side Hamilton Panthers the lead at Rowntrees but the lead lasted just eight minutes before Ken Davis restored parity with a penalty. In the second half Joe Cox sealed a 2-1 win for Rowntrees.

Division One leaders Aviva suffered their first away defeat in ten games as a goal in each half, the first from John Marshall, the second from Rory McCray condemned them to a 2-0 defeat at White Horse, it was the Church Fenton sides 13th home game without a defeat. Aviva’s last defeat was in December at White Horse. St Clements moved on level points with the insurance side at the top of the table after they extended their unbeaten run over Tockwith to six games with a 1-0 win,  Scott Nicholas hit the only goal of the game. Haxby moved out of the bottom two after they secured their first win in five matches with a 2-1 win at Amotherby, Simon Wall equalised for the hosts after Nathan Green had put Haxby in  front and the win was confirmed by Dale Waddington two minutes from time.

As a consequence of the top two sides in Division Two both suffering away defeats, the top five sides are now separated by just two points. Previous leaders Fulford went down 2-0 at Strensall where Lee Lyons and Danny Mason were on target for the hosts and second placed Osbaldwick lost 3-2 at Heslington. Two goals from Martin Pepper and one from Lee Topping saw Heslington race into a comfortable lead at the break and though O’s scored twice after the break Heslington, who have not lost at home to Osbaldwick since October 2007,   held on to their lead and become the new league leaders. Tadcaster Magnets extended their unbeaten home run to 19 matches after they drew 2-2 with Stamford Bridge, Chris Bowles put Stamford in front but before the interval Adam Standridge and Phil Smith had turned the game in Taddy’s favour only for Nick Shaw to salvage a draw for Stamford 20 minutes from time. Joe Gardham put Bishopthorpe ahead inside the first minute at Rawcliffe but the hosts recovered to earn a point from a 3-3 draw, Tom Botterill and Simon Wilson (2) were on target for Rawcliffe with Ben Jones – the divisions leading scorer – added to a second for Gardham,  replying for Bish.

The top four sides clashed in Division Three and it was the home sides that triumphed. Previous leaders F1 Racing on the back of a 12 match unbeaten run and visiting Barmby Moor. a side that they had beaten in the last five encounters but it proved to be unlucky 13 for F1 as they went down 4-3 despite Dan Cooper giving them an early advantage. John Hardcastle levelled before the break, and three goals in fifteen minutes from Simon Houlder and two from Curtis Barker put Barmby well in control though F1 did reduce the arrears with late goals from George Trifan and Rich Proctor. Bishop Wilton moved to the top of the table  but only on goal difference which had been improved with their 8-1 win at Rufforth. Tom Knowles maintained his sequence of scoring in every game in some style as he hit four of their goals with Tom Wood (2) Krammer Smith and Darren Woodhead completing their tally. Selby Olympia recorded their first away win since last November as they won 2-1 at Huby, Lee Briscombe netted for the hosts and a goal in each half, the first from Alistair Brown, the second from Mike Edam earned Sporting Knavesmire a first win of the season as they defeated Ouseburn 2-0. Civil Service chalked up their second successive home draw and Crayke their third away draw on the trot as the two sides drew 3-3, Craig Teaker and Chris Smith raced the home side into a two goal lead before Crayke levelled through Stu Pierce and Dam Smith, an own goal restored the lead for Civil Service but Matty Warrinner levelled again for Crayke.

No change at the top of Division Four as the top two sides both recorded comfortable away wins. Second placed Tadcaster Town won 5-1 at Huntington FC, Pete Webster bagged the solitary home goal while leaders York Acorn won 6-1 at LNER Builders. Within the first 20 minutes Builders had their keeper dismissed for an handling error but managed to restrict the visitors to just a single goal in the first half but a brace each for Wilson Briggs and brothers Andy and Leigh Dutton ensured that Acorns maintained their 100% away record this term. Dean Machin hit the lone Builders reply. Wheldrake registered their first away win since October 2010 as they won 3-2 at Melbourne, Geddis Lababuskis and Kieran Hartnell hit the Melbourne goals but George Ledley (2) and Ben Patchesa won it for Wheldrake. Moor Lane conceded two goals in the opening ten minutes in their home encounter with Selby Town Res before rallying with goals from John Langley, Tyler Dawson (2) and Adam Bunce as Moor Lane won 4-3.

Three second half goals helped Reserve A leaders Wigginton extend their unbeaten run to 13 matches as they won 3-1 at Old Malton despite  a Neil Wilford penalty giving the Ryedale side the half-time lead. Rob Orr levelled for the Grasshoppers before goals from Craig Huggins and Ben Thompson confirmed Wigginton’s first league win at Malton in six attempts. Huntington Rovers cruised to their first league win of the season as they trounced Hamilton Panthers 8-1, Lee Bunce marked his Huntington debut with four of their goals. Reece Derbyshire, Shaun Ellerby, Ash Hill and Gareth Hirst shared the others. Dan Hilton hit a hat-trick for Haxby as they defeated Copmanthorpe 3-1 to push their unbeaten home run to 4 matches, Cops last win at Haxby in the league was in October 2008.

The top two sides in Reserve B both won and subsequently have opened up a five point lead over the chasing pack. Leaders Easingwold crushed York St Johns 8-1 with half their tally scored by Andrew Metcalfe (Snr), Ben Tilley and a hat-trick from Andrew Metcalfe (Jnr) completed the rout. Second placed White Horse scored all their three goals at Amotherby inside the first 20 minutes as they chalked up their fourth away win on the bounce. The Church Fenton goals were shared between Kyle Hesling, Adam Beavers and James Mason.  Aviva’s Dave Butchart scored for the third game on the trot when he gave his side the lead at Bishopthorpe but Bish snatched a point with a Andy Fenwick equaliser as the game finished 1-1.

Reserve C is developing into an interesting scenario with the top six sides separated by just two points. Poppleton currently take pole position after securing their first away draw since March 2009 (31 games) with a 2-2 draw at Rowntrees.  Shaun Stewart hit a double for the hosts before Chris Crawford reduced the deficit and Justin Benford equalised. Only goal difference denies Thorpe Utd top spot in the table after they just edged local rivals Hemingbrough by the odd goal in nine, Jamie Broughton (2) Byron Summers (2) and Danny Mustill bagged for Thorpe whilst the Hemingbrough goals were shared between Ricky Hutton and Alex Bentley.  Stamford Bridge took the local bragging rights for the first time in seven years following their derby win over neighbours Wilberfoss. After a goalless first half Matt Free, Jamie Rank and Gareth Owen fired Stamford into a three goal lead before the visitors hit back through James Parkin and Matty Holes but Fraser Henderson made it 4-2 and sealed the win with a late goal. Tockwith hit two late goals through Phil Wardman and an og to snatch a 4-4 draw at home to Strensall, earlier the visitors led through Martin Stone, Harris Sanderson and a Jamie Lawrence brace with the hosts opening goals both from John Richardson. It was Tockwith’s first draw in 14 but Strensalls second successive 4-4.

Reserve D leaders Crayke maintained their 100% record as they defeated third in the table F1 Racing 4-1, the sides went into the interval on level terms after Matty Bilham   - scoring for the fourth game on the trot –had given Crayke the lead but before the break Mark Foster levelled for F1 After the break Crayke seized the game and the points  with further goals from Mark Parrish, Rob Steel and a second of the game for Bilham.

Rufforth’s Tom Bateson maintained his record of scoring in every game this season when he hit his sides second goal in their 4-4 draw with second in the table Civil Service, Gareth Strain, the division top goal scorer,  hit a brace for Civil Service as did his teammate Ross Dixon while the other Rufforth goals came from Steve Fratson, and a Rupert Rogers double. Two goals from Adam Harrison helped his St Clements side record their first away of the season with a 5-2 win at Wheldrake, the Saints remaining goals came from Gareth Moore, Ricky Murray and Mark Harrison with Tom Anderson and James Walton replying for Wheldrake.

Saturday 3rd November 2012

With Wigginton not playing this week-end Dunnington took full advantage and restored their seven point lead at the top of the York Minster  Engineering Premier League though Grasshoppers have now two games in hand on leaders Dunnington. .

Dunnington had little difficulty in extending their unbeaten run to 18 games as they hammered Nestle 5-0 with goals from  Tom Mathews, John Andrew,  Josh Tattersall and a Tom Richards brace. York RI  chalked up their fourth  away win on the bounce as they defeated Copmanthorpe. RI achieved the double over Cop last season. Despite taking an early lead through Simon Webster Easingwold conceded another five goals at home as they lost 5-2 to Dringhouses.  Liam Stilgoe levelled for Houses and before the break led through Javier Shepherd and Elliot Frodsham. Steve Aconley reduced the arrears shortly after the interval but Shepherd netted his second of the afternoon before Elliot Shepherd completed the nap hand for Dringhouses.  Poppleton took the honours In the bottom of the table clash with Hamilton Panthers despite missing an early penalty. Matty Walters hit Panthers second goal and the Pop tally was completed with goals from Joe Dale (2) and brothers Richard and Nick Moss.

All three games in Division One saw convincing wins for the visiting sides, League leaders Aviva extended their unbeaten away run to 9 games as they beat Haxby 5-1. The Insurance side scored four times in the opening half through Lee Downham (2) Tom Shirley, (with his customary chip) and Neil Richardson before Adam Humpheries added their fifth late in the game. Dale Waddington replied for Haxby with a penalty. Malton & Norton suffered their first defeat in 20 games as they lost 4-1 at home to second in the table St Clements with all the goals in the first half including a Dale Lumley hat-trick, Chris Rowan completed the Saints scoring with Marcus Godsell replying for the Ryedale side.  Hemingbrough registered their first win at Total Sports (formerly Post Office) since February 2008 as they deservedly won 5-0, leading by an Andy Davis goal at the interval they then ran riot in the second period and increased their lead  with goals from Guy May (2) Tom Collins and another Davis  effort.

In the only Division Two fixture, Thorpe came from a goal down at home to Heslington to win 4-3 with Glen Littlewood hitting a hat-trick for the hosts. Daniel Hewitt added Thorpe’s fourth goal.

Only goal difference separates the top three sides in Division Three but F1 Racing just top the League table following their 5-3 home win over Rufforth. Two goals from George Trifan and one each from Neil Yeowart and Ben Storey saw the hosts comfortably leading 4-0 at the break but Rufforth mounted a comeback in the second half courtesy of a Phil Jones hat-trick but to no avail as Dan Cooper added another for the home side. Bishop Wilton trailed to a Richard Dwight penalty at Ouseburn but second half goals from Darren Woodhead and Tom Knowles earned them a 2-1 victory and joint leadership of the Division  with F1 Racing and Barmby Moor

Old Malton staged their first home game of the season and cruised to a 7-1 win over York RI, the visitors had no answer to the finishing prowess of Rob Pinder who hit four of their goals.  John Newton and Darren Dunning both came of the bench to score and the scoring was completed by Dean Clarkson.

Second placed Civil Service maintained their 100% record as they hit three goals in the final eight minutes to turnaround a 2-1 deficit into a 4-2 win. Sub Ben Holding came off the bench to lead the revival with two of their goals which was supplemented with an own goal. After a goal less opening half Mark Lund had given Civil Service the lead but Tom Ellwood restored parity and with ten minutes to go Joe White must have thought he had hit the winner for Cliffe but he had not bargained for Holding! Craig Hardcastle hit the only goal of the game as third placed F1Racing won 1-0 at Bishop Wilton, the hosts rattled the upright and the cross bar twice in search of an equaliser. With a depleted league programme in the  York Minster Engineering League due to the York FA Cup ties, only two Premier League fixtures were scheduled and both resulted in comfortable wins for the visiting sides.

Wigginton Grasshoppers moved within four points of Dunnington in the  Premier League table – and they still have a game in hand -  following their emphatic 5-0 win at Easingwold Town.  Despite been camped in the hosts half for most of the game Wigginton did not break down the stubborn Easingwold defence until 55 minutes when Lee McQuade hit his 17th goal of the League campaign. Within four minutes Lee Stewart doubled their lead and further goals came from Kev Butler – his 10th of the season -  Jack Coates and a Tom Metcalfe penalty. It was Easingwold’s second successive 5-0 home defeat and their third of the season.  Copmanthorpe moved up three places up the League table after their 4-1 win at Rowntrees. Robin Bedford scored twice in the first six minutes for Cop and took his tally to 7 from his last 3 games when he completed his hat-trick and before the break Cop keeper Ben Sheenan converted his second penalty of the season. Dan Marshall pulled a goal back for Rowntrees midway through the second half.

Total Sports pushed their unbeaten run to 5 games in Division One after they recorded a 3-1 win at Tockwith despite trailing at the interval. Dan Palmer hit a corker of a goal to level the scores before strikes from Darren Smith  and Amos Laverack confirmed their win.  Amotherby slipped to their fifth home game without a win as they lost 4-2 to Wilberfoss who now move off the bottom of the league table, John Dunning and Matty Webster were on target for Amotherby and it was a first win in 7 for Foss.

In the only Division Two fixture, Stamford Bridge,  without a home in four,  entertained Heslington who were looking for their first away win in five and it was the visitors that prevailed. Nick Rank’s early goal for the hosts was cancelled out by Dan Topping and though Harry Bryant restored Stamford’s lead the sides went into the break on level terms following Stuart Dickinson equaliser. In the second period both Topping and Dickinson added to their early strikes as Heslington won 4-2.

Huby move of the bottom rung in Division Three after their 2-1 home win over Ousburn, after a goalless opening half the visitors took the lead but two goals from Richard Jennsion earned a first win of the season for Huby.    Civil Service registered their first draw in 11 games as they drew 1-1 with F1 Racing,  Gareth Inness hit their equaliser after F1 had taken the lead also with a penalty.

LNER Builders bounced back to winning ways in Division Four after three successive defeats, as they defeated Huntington FC 3-0, Sam Hill and Andy Hurren hit first half goals for the Builders with Dan Swires completing the scoring in the second period.  York Acorns moved to the top of the table, albeit on goal difference, after their 6-1 win at Melbourne, Connor Larner took his tally for the season into double figures with a brace to add to goals from Andy Dutton (2) Chris Ellerker and Lee Dutton, Jake Winspear hit the hosts reply.  John Langley gave Moor Lane an early lead at Tadcaster but Will Leatt levelled for the hosts on the stroke of half-time before second half goals from Adam Field, scoring for the third game on the trot,   and Lee Murphy sealed a 3-1 win for Tadcaster Town.

Ben Thompson came off the bench  for the last 20 minutes to rescue Reserve A League leaders Wigginton from their first home defeat in a dozen matches. Visitors Old Malton led through a Dan Hodgson goal in the first half – the first goal Wigginton had conceded in over six hours -   and Rob Pinder then doubled their lead but two goals from Thompson in the last 10 minutes salvaged Grasshoppers unbeaten record as the sides drew 2-2.  A goal in each half, the first from Jason Kelly, the second from Nathan Green helped Haxby to their first win in four as they beat Riccall 2-0.

The Reserve B draw specialists Amotherby  chalked up their four draw of the season as they shared the spoils at Heslington, George Everett put Amotherby in front before John Hughes levelled for Heslington. It was Heslington’s first home draw in 18 games.

Malton & Norton are the new leaders in Reserve C following their 2-0 win at Thorpe,  Callum Holmes hit their opener with their second coming from Steve Hoggard.  Josh Knowles scored twice for Selby RSSC as they came from a goal down at home to Wilberfoss to win 3-1. Kyle Pool added their third which condemned Foss to their 9th away trip without a win.

In Reserve D, a Sean Taylor hat-trick helped F1 Racing record their first home win over Huby in five attempts despite been unbeaten at Huby ! Mark Foster added the fourth as F1 won 4-0.
