Midweek games 24 April

Poppleton collected the win that will almost certainly guarantee them football in the York Minster Engineering Premier League next season as Jim Gledhill scored the only goal of the game as Pop defeated York St Johns 1-0. Champions Dunnington took their goal tally for the season to exactly 100 with a 5-1 win at Rowntrees. Luke Dove hit  a hat-trick sandwiched in between Grant Bulmers’s free kick  and John Andrews who concluded the scoring. Huntington started brightly in pursuit of their first win in 8 games as Chris Dyson and Kev Martin both scored inside the opening 20 minutes at Copmanthorpe but the hosts hit back through Robin Bedford, John Patrick, Chris Storey and keeper Ben Sheehan’s sixth penalty of the season to win 4-2. Wigginton’s demise continues as they slumped to their fourth successive defeat,  a 5-0 drubbing at York RI, Lee Powell became joint top-goal scorer in  the Premier League for the season with a brace to add to goals from Mark Woodward and a Carl Shepherd double.

St Clements finally secured their Promotion to the Premier League with a goal in each half as they defeated Wilberfoss 2-0 in their final Division One fixture.. Dale Lumley opened the scoring with Mike Heels doubling their lead just after the hour mark. It was also the fifth home game on trot that the Saints had not conceded a goal. Just 24 hours after their East Riding Cup Final with Pocklington had to be abandoned due to a serious injury to one of their players Hemingbrough hit Division Two-bound Haxby for seven, Tom Collins (2) Jon Wileman (2) Craig Haythorne, Adie Wood and an og made up the Hemingbrough tally with Mathew Dawson, Billy Ross and Nathan Green replying for Haxdsby who lost 7-3.

In Division Two relegated Stamford Bridge suffered their third consecutive 3-0 reversal as they lost at home to Cliffe. The visitors,  who avoided the drop on the basis that only one side will be relegated from the Division following the resignation of Heworth in October, recorded their first away win of the season with 16 year old Shaun Gallagher scoring twice and setting up their third for Lee Carter.

The questions of who goes up with F1 Racing from Division Three and who joins Huby in Division Four next season was still in the balance. Sporting Knavesmire kept their faint hopes alive with a 5-3 win at relegation threatened Elvington. The visitors raced into a five goal lead through Gary Smith (2), Tom Wilson, Ryan Gothard and Alex Day before the hosts rallied with Tim Carrington and a Adam Robertson brace. Crayke chalked up their first double of the season as they followed up last Saturday’s 2-1 home win over Rufforth by defeating the same opposition and by the identical score-line at Rufforth. James Robinson and Carl Simpson bagged for Crayke with Tom Bateson replying for Rufforth. Elvington entertain Rufforth on Saturday and a win for the visitors will see the Harriers relegated.

Already assured of Promotion, Tadcaster Town hit six unanswered goals past Selby Town Res in Division Four through Adam Field (3) – his fourth hat-trick of the season, Jacob Duckworth (2) and Will Leatt. The significance of the six goals is that Taddy ‘s goal difference is now identical to that of York Acorn ahead of the possible title decider against York Acorn on Saturday. To go up as Champions York Acorn need to beat Tadcaster, a draw or defeat would leave Tadcaster   requiring to beat Selby Town Res in their final fixture. York Acorn and Tadcaster Town drew 0-0 last Saturday.

Strensall recorded their first home draw in 13 games as they shared the spoils with Tockwith in a 1-1 draw in Reserve C and Crayke took a step towards promotion from Reserve D with a 3-1 win at Wheldrake, A win in their final fixture will see Crayke promoted.

Match Reports from 27 April 2013

27th April 2013

Easingwold Town let slip a 2-1 half-time lead at home to Riccall in the York Minster Engineering Premier League and with it any realistic hope of staying in the top flight.  Gary Collier put Riccall in front but before the break Steve Aconley struck twice for Easingwold to give the hosts some hope but their 10th home game without a win was confirmed as the visitors responded through Liam Olsen, an og and a second of the game for Collier. Defeat at Huntington on Monday evening will see Easingwold joining Hamilton Panthers in Division One next season but even a victory at Huntington will still leave them just 1 point above St Johns,  who still have four games to play.

Selby RSSC guaranteed themselves another season in the Premier League as a Louis Blackwell hat-trick,  including the last-minute winner,  turned a two goal deficit at York St Johns into a 3-2 win, their first in six games. Earlier Daniel Tingay hit the opening goal – the first goal at home for the Students in almost five hours -  before Chris Walker made it 2-0 and then came the Blackwell show!

Huntington ended a run of eight games without a win as they narrowly beat relegated Hamilton Panthers, Chris Dyson struck the only goal of the game while Carl Stewart scored twice for Rowntrees in their 3-0 win at Poppleton.  Dringhouses avenged the home defeat by local rivals York RI ten days ago by defeating the same opposition in the reverse fixture 5-3, Liam Stilgoe (2) Dave Watson, Steve Rambridge and Javier Shepherd were on target for ‘Houses with Craig Atkinson, Mark Woodward and Lee Powell – scoring for the sixth game on the trot – replying for the home side. Champions Dunnington completed their away fixtures with a 3-0 win at Terrington, Matty Wain hit their opener with a penalty before Jimmy Wilmoth doubled their lead with a tap-in and a Kieran O’Brien header completed the scoring.

White Hose may have just missed out on promotion from Division One but they finished the season in style as they hit eight unanswered goals past a bewildered Wilberfoss side. John Marshall took his tally for the season to 15 with four of their goals,  while the remainder came from Chris Thompson, John Langrick (2) and Len Hall.

The battle for the second promotion place in Division Three continues to intrigue as just one point now separates the four sides vying for the runners-up spot. Sporting Knavesmire,  who for a long time were out of the reckoning,  but have now picked up regular points while their rivals flounder continued the trend as they defeated the already crowned Champions,  F1 Racing 1-0 Danny Smith fired in the only goal which takes Sporting into second place in the table. Barmby Moor,  having already collected silverware in the form of the East Riding County Cup on Thursday evening, failed to win away from home for the fourth game on the trot as they lost 4-2 to Civil Service who themselves are still in the mix for promotion.

James Windle hit his fourth treble of the season for Civil Service after Gareth Inness had given them an early lead with a penalty. Elvington’s relegation was rubber-stamped as they lost 2-1 at home to Rufforth, Sam  Martin hit the Harriers lone goal.

Tadcaster Town head Division Four after they took all three points in the top-of-the-table clash with York Acorn and now need just a point from their final game on Wednesday evening when they entertain Selby Town Res.  Adam Field gave Tadcaster a flying start as he opened the scoring inside the first minute and then added Tadcaster’s second just before the break. Leigh Dutton, the leading scorer in the Division,  reduced the arrears five minutes from time

Pete Webster hit a hat-trick for Huntington FC as they wrapped up their first season in the York Minster Engineering Football League with a comfortable 5-1 home win over Selby Town Res,   Daniel Bowley and Eric Balderstone completed the scoring for the hosts.

Copmanthorpe inflicted a first defeat in 33 games on Reserve A Champions Dunnington as they triumphed 5-1 at Dunnington with all the goals scored in the opening half.  Cop raced into a five goal lead courtesy  of Jack Hugill and a brace each for Jake Moyse and Tom Settle before Ross Wilkinson pulled a goal back for a shell-shocked Dunnington. Dringhouses looking to consolidate a third place finish in the table beat Riccall 2-0 with their goals shared between Stuart Jenkins and Sam Kitson.

Easingwold finally pinched the runners-up spot in Reserve B with a last minute goal to snatch a 4-3 win at York St Johns. The students,  who needed to win to avoid relegation, led at the interval through Sam Burton and Tom Parry before Easingwold rallied to lead 3-2, Burton equalised for the Students but two late goals sealed promotion for Easingwold. Jordan Green (2) an own goal and John Dey were on the Easingwold score-sheet. Tadcaster Magnets beat Aviva 2-0 to confirm their stay in Reserve B next season but in doing so condemned Amotherby & Swinton to relegation. Paul Smith and Mathew Mason netted in the second half for Taddy. Champions White Horse recorded their first away draw in 19 matches as they shared the points at Pocklington, Danny Graham’s opening goal for the Church Fenton side was cancelled out by Sam Morrell for Pock.

The two bottom sides in Reserve C both recorded useful home wins  to drag their beaten opponents into the relegation battle, Jason Heslop scored the only goal of the game as basement side Strensall inflicted a sixth defeat on the trot for Poppleton – and Pop have failed to score in five of those defeats - while second-bottom Wilberfoss moved within a point of Tockwith after they put four unanswered goals past them. Gaz Brook started the balling rolling for Foss in the first half and Tockwith could find no response to second half strikes from Jono Parkin, James Parkin and Robin Walker.

St Clements have put out the gauntlet to Crayke in the battle for the runners-up spot in Reserve D following their 6-1 home win over Bishop Wilton, Liam Kettlewell (2),  Mathew Horner (2) James Cooper and Tom Nicholas shared the Saints tally with Jason Race hitting the solitary Bishop Wilton reply. To deny St Clements promotion Crayke not only need to beat Rufforth on Monday evening but with at least a three goal margin.  Bottom of the table Huby Utd doubled their number of wins for the season in some style as they travelled away to,  and beat,  Champions Civil Service 4-3, the Huby hero was hat-trick boy Ashley Inness with Tom Horner adding their fourth. Olly Cook, Declan Parks and Lewis Hardy replied for hosts. Cliffe Reserves preserved their unbeaten record against F1 Racing as they won 2-1 with goals from  Ryan Tiplady and Nigel Horner.

Match Reports from 20th April 2013

20th April 2013

For the newly crowned Champions of the York Minster Engineering Premier League it was busy as usual as Dunnington maintained their unbeaten run for the season in comprehensive style as they defeated York St Johns 4-0. Not since April 2008 have St Johns beaten Dunnington and they never looked like improving on that sequence as Jonathon Andrews and Alex Lowe netted in the first half with Tom Richards and Jimmy Wilmoth doing likewise after the interval. Old Malton suffered their first defeat in 11 games as they lost 1-0 at Copmanthorpe and hold on to the runners-up spot but only on goal difference from Cop, who have a game in hand. Matty Bastock hit the only goal of the game after 10 minutes. Wigginton continue to slide down the table as they failed to win for the fourth game on the trot, on this occasion they suffered at the hands of the  Rowntrees revival losing 2-1, ex-Wiggington striker Kev Butler headed his new club in front after 20 minutes with Carl Stewart doubling their lead eight minutes later. Lee Stewart converted a Wigginton penalty but it was not enough to stop Rowntrees chalking up their fourth home win on the bounce and one win away from securing their Premier League status for another season. Easingwold remain embroiled in the relegation battle after they lost 2-1 at home to York RI – their ninth home game without a win. Lee Powell took his personally tally for the season to 24 with RI’s opening goal before Liam Keenaghan made it 2-0 with Dave Adams halving the deficit late in the proceedings. Riccall recorded their first away win in four with a 3-1 win at Selby RSSC to leave their local rivals still needing at least one win to be safe from relegation. Gary Collier, Tom Littlewood and Luke Crowther shared the Riccall goals with Chris Coxen replying for Selby.  Basement side Hamilton Panthers recorded their first home win since November  as they beat Terrington Glory 5-1 with four of their goals from Olly Newby, Adam Fishwick added Panthers other goal with Alex Yates responding for the Glory boys who have now failed to win on the road in five  trips.

Aviva clinched promotion to the Premier League as they won the winner-takes-all battle with White Horse 2-1, the Church Fenton side took the lead after 15 minutes but within three minutes Tom Shirley’s quickly taken free kick  had restored parity. A first league win over White Horse in six attempts was confirmed for Aviva in the second half with another Shirley goal and with it the Division One Championship Shield. St Clements bounced back from their mid-week defeat to wrestle the advantage from  White Horse for the runners-up spot with a 5-1 win at relegated Wilberfoss, Scott Nicholas (2) Dale Lumley, Danny Adams and Mike Midgley shared Saints nap hand and a win against the same opponents next week will see St Clements joining Aviva in the Premier League next season. Malton & Norton wrapped up their season with a 2-1 win at Total Sports, Marcus Godsell’s opening goal for the Ryedale side was their first goal in almost five hours, Kevin Oxendale added Malton’s second with Ben Brannigan replying for the hosts.

The Division Two title was at stake in the Bishopthorpe v Tadcaster Magnets encounter and despite Bish taking the honours when the two sides meet last week the destiny of the title was never in doubt as Taddy,  aided by an Andy Kitchen hat-trick swept into a three goal lead before the interval. Kitchen took his personally tally for the season to 14 with his fourth goal of the game before Bishopthorpe hit back with two late goals from Ben Jones and Andy Haigh but the Championship was already won by Tadcaster Magnets, Osbaldwick were also promoted as runners-up. Fulford’s Sam Harrison scored for the fifth game on the trot but could not prevent his side from going down 3-1 to Strensall, Mick Pipe, Danny Mason and John Cooper had all earlier bagged for Strensall. Stamford Bridge were relegated following their 3-0 home defeat by Thorpe.

F1 Racing were confirmed as Division Three Champions following their 3-1 home victory over Selby Olympia, first half goals from Neil Yeowart and Andy Proctor started the celebrations which were confirmed in the second half with a Ben Storey effort.  The second promotion place is still up for grabs as the three leading contenders all lost, Barmby Moor remain in pole position though despite picking up only three points from their last five games, their latest set-back was a 4-2 defeat at Ouseburn where Richard Dwight (2) Ben Jones and  an own goal accounted for the home sides goals. Bishop Wilton remain just a point behind Barmby but their recent form is just as poor as they slumped to their sixth game without a win as they lost 3-0 at relegation –threatened Elvington. The Harriers,  without a home win in three,  never looked back after Sam Martin scored for the fourth game in succession to put them in front, brother Alex then added their second and Joe Parnell the third. Despite the win Elvington remain in the relegation zone as their main rivals Crayke won 2-1 at home to Rufforth. Daniel Whitcombe’s opening goal for the visitors was cancelled out by a Tom Hilling header and Crayke’s second home win of the season was secured with late goal from sub Alan Boyd.

As the promotion contenders continue to flounder Sporting Knavesmire still have a slim outside chance of taking the runners-up spot and they maintained their interest with a 4-1 win at Civil Service which included an  Alistair Brown hat-trick, Tom Williams had earlier put Sporting in front which had been cancelled out by Ben Holding for the home side.

The top-of-the-table clash in Division Four between Tadcaster Town and York Acorn which could have decided the outcome of the Championship,  finished goal-less,  so maybe the destiny of the Championship title will be decide the two sides meet again next week. Ben Feathers scored twice for Wheldrake in their 3-0 win at Huntington with Nial Kirby adding the third goal.

Dunnington collected the three points they needed to retain the Reserve A title for a third successive year with a 1-0 win at Old Malton. Matty Playle hit the only goal of the game as the Dunnington Club celebrated a clean sweep of the title honours for both the Club’s teams. Dringhouses recorded their fifth successive win over Huntington Rovers with a comfortable 6-1 victory. ‘Houses raced into a five goal lead through Tom Hawksby, Callum Mulhearn, Jimmy Clamp (2) and John Verity before Huntington pulled a goal back with a Chris Johnson penalty before Joe Galway completed the rout.

A John Dey hat-trick helped Easingwold Town edge closer to promotion from Reserve B as they beat  Heslington 6-1, Jordan Green, Andrew Metcalfe (Snr) and Andrew Metcalfe (Jnr) completed rout with Alex Sutherland replying for Heslington who played the majority of the game with 10 men. A win in their final fixture – away at basement side York St Johns -  will secure a return to Reserve A for Easingwold.  A strong Amotherby side registered their first away success of the season as they hit six unanswered goals past  beat York St Johns, Andy Phillips led the rout with five of their tally to add to a Mike Lindsay goal. Tadcaster Magnets moved off the bottom rung of the table after a goal less draw with Pocklington.

A Gary Howden goal with virtually the last kick of the game secured all three points for Selby RSSC and probably the runners-up spot in Reserve C  as they defeated basement side Strensall 2-1. Earlier Ryan Munford had levelled for the hosts after Tom Butterfield had given Selby the lead.  A point in their final fixture will be enough for the Selby side or even a narrow defeat may still see them promoted. Thorpe recorded their first away draw in 14 games as they drew 2-2 at Tockwith, Steve Gaye and Steve Poulter scored for the home side.

Poppleton failed to score for their third away game on the trot but at least they did manage to secure a point as they drew 0-0 at Hemingbrough.

St Clements continued their late push for promotion from Reserve D as they chalked up their 7th straight home win with a 5-2 victory over away-day specialists Cliffe. The Saints led early in the game courtesy of an Joe White own goal, Jason Grundy levelled for Cliffe but the hosts led at the break through the first of two goals from Ricky Mizzi. Joe Hamilton and Josh Johnson added further goals for the Saints before Joe White struck a goal in the right net. A win for St Clements in their final fixture against Bishop Wilton would mean that Crayke would have to take maximum points from their three remaining games to overhaul St Clements. Wheldrake moved out of the re-election zone after they chalked up their fourth game without a defeat with a 3-2 win over Huby, James Smith scored twice for Wheldrake after Nathan Mason had opened Wheldrakes’ account with Tom Horner hitting both Huby goals. Rufforth recorded their first home draw of the season as they shared two goals with F1 Racing, Steve Fratson obliged for Rufforth with Nigel Dawber levelling for the visitors.

Match Reports from 13 April

13th April 2013

Wigginton Grasshoppers drop out of the top two in the York Minster Engineering Premier League for the first time this season as they suffered their first away defeat in seven games to leave title rivals Dunnington needing just five points from their remaining six games to take the title.

Wigginton travelled to Copmanthorpe having lost the previous three encounters with their hosts but took an early lead through  Dan Zambeli after just 10 minutes. The Cop keeper Ben Sheehan converted his fifth penalty of the season to level the scores before Copmanthorpe confirmed their eighth straight win on the trot with late goals from Mark Featherstone and Robin Bedford. That defeat leaves the Premiership title within easy reach of Dunnington after they extended their unbeaten run to 28 games with a 2-1 win at out-of-sorts Huntington Rovers. James Edmund headed the hosts into an early lead which they held until the final 20 minutes  before conceding goals to Alex Lowe and Dunnington’s Player-Manager Matty Wain who hit a spectacular 30 yard volley to clinch the win.

Old Malton who had not conceded a goal in their previous four games had little difficulty in extending the run by another hour and a half as they walloped Rowntrees 9-0 at home, the visitors were however handicapped as their keeper saw red before the break. The Ryedale rout was started by Richard Dunning and finished by Richard Stevenson and the goals in between came from Damian Cox and two each for  Dean Nuttall , Darren Dunning and Jon Newton.

Both Dringhouses and Selby RSSC achieved creditable midweek draws against the top two sides in the league and they continued the trend when they met at Dringhouses, Louis Blackwell’s early goal for Selby was cancelled out by Marco Shepherd as they drew 1-1. York St Johns celebrated their first league goal in over six hours when Lee Wilmslow scored at York RI  but the result however was a disappointing 6-2 defeat,  York RI netted through Lee Powell, Dave McNichol, Liam Keenaghan and a hat-trick from Carl Shepherd while Liam Waterworth added the second goal for the Students. Basement side Hamilton Panthers slipped nearer to relegation following their 6-1 defeat at Riccall, the home goals were shared between Dave Heron, Will Ramsey and a brace each for Gary Collier and Tom Littlewood.

A Scott Nicholas hat-trick helped St Clements to a 3-0 home win over  Malton & Norton in Division One and  finally quash the Ryedale sides hopes for Premier League  football , at least for another season. The Saints,  who have now gone over seven and half hours without conceding a goal,  are now surely favourites to be playing in the Premier League next season.  White Horse maintained their interest in the promotion places  as they collected maximum points from their visit to Pocklington with a 4-1 win, Ash Newton gave Pock an early advantage but before the break the Church Fenton side led with goals from John Langrick and Olly Sykes and added further goals from Dave Marshall  and Rory McCraie.  Next Saturday White Horse travel to league leaders Aviva knowing a defeat will probably cost them the chance of playing against the elite next August.

In Division Two Tadcaster Magnets suffered their first home defeat since joining the York Football league in 2010 -  a run of 24 matches-  as they lost 3-1 to promotion rivals Bishopthorpe. That result,  coupled with Osbaldwick’s 3-0 win at Cliffe,  takes the O’s back to the top of the table and a win on Wednesday for Osbaldwick at Fulford,  will guarantee them promotion. The O’s who had failed to score in their previous three games with Cliffe quickly opened their account through Steve Smith with Mike Whiteley and Harry Cartledge adding second half goals.  Should Tadcaster and Bishopthorpe both win in midweek then a promotion place will be at stake when the two sides clash again at Bishopthorpe on Saturday.   Sam Harrison scored twice for Fulford as they ended a three match winless run with a 3-2 victory over Rawcliffe.

Despite been involved in a Junior League Cup tie,  F1 Racing were promoted from Division Three as second placed Bishop Wilton were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Sporting Knavesmire.  A Rob Eeles goal separated the sides until the final minute but Sporting snatched a late equaliser to keep themselves in with an outside chance of promotion.  Barmby Moor moved into second position in the table after their 4-2 home win over Elvington. Simon Houlder and Greg Nesbitt both scored inside the first five minutes and though Harriers reduced the arrears before the interval through Sam Martin, second half goals from Will Nicholson and Shaun Elvidge sealed a first win in five for Barmby and put their promotion hopes back on track, Adam Robertson added a late goal of the Harriers who though they have games in hand, are six points away from safety.  Rufforth virtually confirmed their Division Three status for next season with a 2-0 home win over Huby, Graham Rae and Phil Jones were on target for the home side.

Two goals from Will Deakin helped Tadcaster Town warm up for their Championship decider with York Acorn in Division Four as they inflicted a first home defeat of the year on hosts Wheldrake,  winning 4-0, Tom Deighton,  with his 22nd league goal of the season,  added the third with Tony Wetherell completing the scoring. Moor Lane recorded back-to-back home wins despite trailing twice to Huntington FC,  Gavin Harford hit their first equaliser, Brendan Walsh their second before Adam Caske sealed a 3-2 win for Moor Lane

Kyle Wilks and Kie Latham shared the Selby Town Res goals in their 4-1 home win over Melbourne.

Just one more win for Dunnington will wrap up their third successive Reserve A title after they beat Haxby 3-1. Rob Hart, scoring for the fourth game on the trot,  gave Dunnington the lead and Josh Martin doubled their advantage but the hosts rallied and halved the deficit before the break through Nathan Green but the win was eventually secured with a second goal from Martin.

White Horse missed out on their chance to take the Reserve B Championship title as they suffered their first home defeat of the season as they lost 2-1 to promotion rivals Fulford FC Utd.  Joe Kanarski fired the visitors into the lead before the break and Danny Holme added their second before the Church Fenton side pulled a goal back but win at home over local rivals Tadcaster Magnets on Monday evening will secure them the title.  Despite Fulford’s win they are still a point behind Easingwold Town who just edged past basement side Amotherby & Swinton, John Dey scoring the only goal as Easingwold won 1-0.

Stamford Bridge recorded their first win over Thorpe in six meetings to keep alive their Reserve C promotion hopes. On target for Stamford were Jamie Rank (2) Shaun Skipen, Dave Lynch and an own goal. Hemingbrough eased their relegation worries as they condemn basement side Strensall to their sixth away defeat of the season as the hosts won 3-1, Liam Gaughty’s opening goal for Hemingbrough was cancelled out by Luke Quantock but two late goals from Ricky Hutton and Mike Brown secured only a second home win of the campaign for Hemingbrough.  Tockwith remain in the relegation zone despite their 5-0 home win Poppleton but are now just one point away from safety, Graham Hutchison scored twice for Tockwith to add to goals from Simon Lewis, Jim Drew and an own goal.

Reserve D Champions Civil Service suffered their first home defeat in 10 games as they lost 3-0 to Cliffe,  who maintained their unbeaten away record for the season. Ben Rawson struck two late goals for Cliffe to add to a first half effort from Shaun Gallagher.

Tadcaster Town recorded their first home draw of the season and Wheldrake their first away draw as the two sides shared 10 goals.  Wheldrake,  who scored through Kyle Davis, Andy Carter and a hat-trick from Tom Anderson led 1-0, 4-1 and 5-2 with the hosts snatching a point with a last gasp goal from Lee Acaster. Jordan Mason and Lewis Chipchase shared Tadcasters opening four goals.

There were no surprises in the Senior League Cup-ties as the two Premier League sides comfortably defeated their Division One opponents,  two goals a piece for Adam Ferguson and Nick Moss helped Poppleton to a 6-1 home win over Amotherby, Justin Bedford and James Gledhill completed the Pop scoring with Andy Phillips replying for Amotherby while Simon Webster (2), Steve Aconley, Adam Paterson and Andrew Sugden helped Easingwold Town to a 5-1 win at Wilberfoss, James Parkin hit the solitary Foss goal.

Sub Paul Bentley hit the equaliser for F1 Racing in their Junior Cup tie with fellow Division Three side Civil Service to send the tie to penalties which the newly promoted F1 Racing won 4-3. Earlier Rich Proctor had given F1 the lead but Civil Service replied with goals from Chris Smith and a Gareth Inness penalty before the introduction of Bentley
