With
Wigginton not playing this week-end Dunnington took full advantage and restored
their seven point lead at the top of the York Minster
Engineering Premier League though Grasshoppers
have now two games in hand on leaders Dunnington. .
Dunnington
had little difficulty in extending their unbeaten run to 18 games as they
hammered Nestle 5-0 with goals from Tom
Mathews, John Andrew, Josh Tattersall
and a Tom Richards brace. York
RI chalked up their fourth away win on the bounce as they defeated
Copmanthorpe. Twice Cop lead through Matty Pallister and Chris Story but RI hit
top gear in the second half to turn a 2-1 deficit into a 4-2 victory, Mark

they lost 5-2 to Dringhouses. Liam

another Davis effort.
In
the only Division Two fixture, Thorpe came from a goal down at home to
Heslington to win 4-3 with Glen Littlewood hitting a hat-trick for the hosts.
Daniel Hewitt added Thorpe’s fourth goal.
Only
goal difference separates the top three sides in Division Three but F1
Racing just top the League table following their 5-3 home win over Rufforth. Two
goals from George Trifan and one each from Neil Yeowart and Ben Storey saw the
hosts comfortably leading 4-0 at the break but Rufforth mounted a comeback in
the second half courtesy of a Phil Jones hat-trick but to no avail as Dan
Cooper added another for the home side. Bishop Wilton trailed to a Richard
Dwight penalty at Ouseburn but second half goals from Darren Woodhead and Tom
Knowles earned them a 2-1 victory and joint leadership of the Division with F1 Racing and Barmby Moor
Leigh
Dutton hit four goals as York Acorn beat Huntington FC 6-4 and chalk up their
fifth win on the bounce to move two points clear at the top of Division

Wigginton
continue to dominate Reserve A at this early stage of the
season, their 3-0 home win over neighbours Haxby sees their lead pushed to 10
points though they have played more games than all the other teams. Their 13th home game without defeat was earned with
goals from Eddie Clapham and a Kev Butler double. Dunnington made it 3 wins from 3 with a 2-0
win at Dringhouses, a venue that they have not lost at since January 2006. Old

York RI ,
the visitors had no answer to the finishing prowess of Rob Pinder who hit four
of their goals. John Newton and Darren

Clarkson.
The
top two sides in Reserve B both suffered defeats, leaders Easingwold Town
conceded a goal in each half as they lost 2-1 at Tadcaster Magnets, Myles Clegg

fifth.
Selby
RSSC suffered their first home defeat in 14 games as they lost 3-2 to local
rivals Thorpe in Reserve C.
No
change at the top of Reserve D as the top five sides all
recorded wins. Leaders Crayke made it 5 wins from 5 as they defeated St
Clements 4-1, a Matty Bilham strike separated the sides at the break but second
half goals from Kieran Saye, Alan Boyd and a second for Bilham saw Crayke into a comfortable lead before
Josh Johnson hit the goal of the game as a consolation for the Saints. Second
placed Civil Service maintained their 100% record as they hit three goals in
the final eight minutes to turnaround a 2-1 deficit into a 4-2 win. Sub Ben
Holding came off the bench to lead the revival with two of their goals which
was supplemented with an own goal. After a goal less opening half Mark Lund had
given Civil Service the lead but Tom Ellwood restored parity and with ten
minutes to go Joe White must have thought he had hit the winner for Cliffe but
he had not bargained for Holding! Craig Hardcastle hit the only goal of the
game as third placed F1Racing won 1-0 at Bishop Wilton, the hosts rattled the
upright and the cross bar twice in search of an equaliser. Fourth placed
Rufforth trailed to goals from James Walton and Matt Walker at the break in
their home encounter with Wheldrake but two second half goals each from Tom
Bateson and Lee Jefferson saw Rufforth to a 4-3 win, Jack Redmond snatched a
late goal for the visitors.
