Premier Division

Five sides remain unbeaten after the opening brace of fixtures including the usual contenders but the surprise package at this early stage is Riccall Utd who spent most of last season battling against relegation. After hitting five past Poppleton Utd on Saturday in their opening fixture,  Riccall matched that as they hit another five as they defeated Rowntrees 5-1. Tom Littlewood, who netted twice at the week-end,  hit another double and should have had a hat-trick but missed the opportunity from the penalty spot. Andrew Addison,  Wayne Brooke and Jamie Sedman completed the nap hand for Riccall.  Dunnington entertained their bogey side Copmanthorpe having lost six of the last nine league encounters between the two sides ( on the three successful occasions they won  4-1) but two goals a piece from Tom Richards and Tom Mathews set up a 4-2 win for Dunnington with Tom Settle and Mark Featherstone snatching late consolation goals for Copmanthorpe. Defending Champions Old Malton extended their unbeaten run to 31 matches as Dan Fogg scored the only goal of the game on the half hour mark as the Ryedale side beat York RI 1-0. Dringhouses scored twice within the first eight minutes in their match against Hamilton Panthers,  Mitch Carter hit their opener with Chris Kamara doubling their advantage as Dringhouses went onto win 3-1 with Kamara completing the scoring for ‘Houses with a second half penalty. Nick Moss twice deservedly gave his Poppleton side the lead in their home encounter with Wigginton but second half goals from Dan Zambeli (2) an og and  a second of the game for Josh Luckhurst saw the Grasshoppers make it two wins from two as they eventually won 5-2.  With hosts Easingwold reduced to 10 men early in their game with Terrington, the newly-promoted Glory boys were quick to take  advantage hitting the back of the hosts net five times through Dave Bradshaw, Danny Bulmer (pen) Ben Richardson, Alex Yates, Bryden Freer and all before the break. An improved second half performance from Easingwold ensured that no further goals were scored as the game finished 5-0. Huntington were forced to work hard for their first win of the season as they won 3-1 at Selby RSSC, Stu Odgens opening goal was cancelled out by Rob Friar for the hosts but Jon James restored Huntington lead before Csongor Laba marked his Huntington debut with their winner.
