Riccall
maintained their impressive unbeaten start to the season with a 4-3 win at York RI ,
their first League win at New Lane
since October 2005. Goals from Andrew Addison, Michael Braithwaite and a Wayne
Brooke penalty (that’s 3 in 3 for Brooke) saw Riccall race into a three goal
lead at the break though the hosts pulled a goal back early into the second
half through Mark Woodward and should have reduced the arrears even further but saw their penalty saved. Jamie Sedman added a
fourth for the visitors before Nick Hutchinson and Woodward added late goals
for RI. Old
Malton made it three from three with a 2-1 win at newly promoted Selby RSSC.
After a goalless first period the defending Champions struck twice in two
minutes, firstly Liam Preston produced a delicate touch following a free kick
and shortly afterwards Jon Newton finished off a 5-man passing move to slot the
ball home. A rare defensive error from Old Malton gifted the Selby a goal back
but Old Malton held out to extend their unbeaten run to 32 games. Wigginton
entertained Rowntrees looking to extend their unbeaten home run to 9 matches
and against the side that were the last team to win at Wigginton. At the break
the result could have gone either way as Tom Coates opener for Wigginton was
cancelled out by the visitors just before the break but the second half
produced an avalanche of goals and all into the Rowntrees net as Kev Butler hit
a hat-trick against the side he played for last season to add to goals from Lee
McQuade (2), Dan Zambeli, Matt Tiplady,
Dave Wilstrop and the pick of the bunch from Josh Hutchinson as Grasshoppers
won 10-1. For
the second time this season Terrington conceded a late goal to deny themselves
even a share of the spoils. Both sides converted early penalties, Danny Bulmer
for Glory and Gary Newton for Huntington before Chris Dyson latched onto a
through ball from James Edmund to put Huntington in front though before the
interval Bulmer bagged his second of the afternoon to level the game, With
the game looking as though it would drift towards a draw a cross from Newton
saw Dyson react the quickest and his all important touch gave Huntington their
last minute winner. Dunnington
extended their unbeaten run to 9 games as they recorded their first win at
Hamilton Panthers since January 2009. The
game was quickly over as a contest with Tom Richards, who also scored in Dunnington’s previous two
games, scoring a first half hat-trick as Dunnington led 5-0 at the break and
eventually winning 9-0. John Andrews, Simon Castle, Jimmy Wilmoth, Josh
Tattersall, another
Richards effort and an og completed the rout. Easingwold
recorded their first away win since November as they won 2-0 at Poppleton.
