Tadcaster
Magnets moved within a point of the Division Two leaders Osbaldwick
after they notched up their 7th unbeaten game with a 2-1 win at
Cliffe despite trailing to a Wes Pears goal at the interval.
The
top two sides in Reserve A both won, leaders Wigginton managed a first win at Huntington since March
2008 after they conceded an early goal to their hosts from Nicke Rakocevic. A
long range effort from Danny Lamb levelled the scores before the break and in
the second half Ben Thompson and a second of the game for Lamb sealed only
their second victory over Huntington
in their previous eleven meetings. Second placed Dunnington needed a last
minute free kick to ensure maximum points from their trip to Riccall, the
defending Champions went behind to a Liam Brown
goal but eventually won 2-1, a result which relegates Riccall.
Having
conceded five goals in each of their last two games York RI were
determined to finish the season on a high and their 2-0 win at Dringhouses was
just the result they required.
It
was a first home defeat of the year for Dringhouses as they conceded second
half goals to Collen Cummings and Danny Cates.
Fulford
FC moved within a point of the promotion places in Reserve B as they kept
their third consecutive clean-sheet at
home following their 5-0 win over Bishopthorpe with all the goals coming in the
second half. Fulford’s nap hand was shared between Ben Bailey (2) Shane Smith,
Adam Lewis and Sam Pepper. Pocklington
Town assured themselves of a top four finish as they beat York St Johns 5-3,
Paul Young, Mike Stacey and Nick Daniels all scored in the opening half before Stu Barker made it 4-0, at which point the Students then responded
with goals from Lee Winslow (2) and Chris Walker before John Parsons netted in
the final minute to seal the win.
Wheldrake
recorded their first draw of the season in Reserve D as they shared the spoils
with Tadcaster Town in a 2-2 draw, James Walton and
George Pethulis were on target for Wheldrake.
